Madeline Kahn (September 29, 1942 – December 3, 1999) was an American actress, comedienne and singer. Kahn was known primarily for her comic roles in films such as Paper Moon, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, What's Up, Doc?, and Clue. Madeline Kahn developed ovarian cancer in early 1999. She underwent treatment and continued to work on Cosby and married her long-time companion, John Hansbury, in October 1999.[6] The disease spread rapidly and she died on December 3, 1999.[7] Her body was cremated. A bench dedicated to her memory was erected in Central Park by her husband John Hansbury and her brother Jeffery.
